St Mary Magdalen Church encourages everyone to join us in consecrating ourselves, our families, our parish, and our nation to Jesus Christ our Savior through entrustment to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
In 1792 Bishop John Carroll of Baltimore, the first bishop of the United States placed our nation under the protection of Our Lady. In 1846 the US Bishops proclaimed the Blessed Virgin Mary as Patroness of the United States under the title of the Immaculate Conception. As we draw near to Her great feast on December 8th it is fitting for us to pray for our country especially in light of the current pandemic and divisive national election. Now more than ever we need the protection, guidance, and intercession of Immaculate Mary to lead our nation to Her Son.
Our journey of consecration will begin on Thursday, November 5th after the national elections and conclude with a special mass and consecration on December 8th, Feast of the Immaculate Conception.
The process of consecration lasts 33 days and consists of daily meditations and special prayers.
